How Logan Paul Almost Derailed Planned John Cena WrestleMania Match

John Cena

A new report has suggested that John Cena might have his opponent set for WrestleMania and how Logan Paul may have derailed that plan.

John Cena is expected to make another return to WWE and compete at WrestleMania 39, and now it looks like his opponent for the event could be set. Cena has been the target of insults and barbs from current WWE US Champion Austin Theory in the past and it looks like the two men will face off when WrestleMania goes Hollywood in April.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that it looks like Austin Theory is in John Cena’s future at WrestleMania but that Logan Paul was in the mix at the end of 2022 to meet the WWE icon:

“It looks like it’s gonna be Cena and Theory at ‘Mania, that’s what it’s looking like.”

“It was the plan way, way back but Logan Paul had asked to be against Cena but they never said that. There was definitely talk of Cena and Logan Paul at one point in November/December.”

It was also noted on the show that there is a feeling in WWE that “the countdown is on” until Vince McMahon re-appears on television and takes back control of the company.
