Lex Luger Climbs From Wheelchair After Working With DDP

Lex Luger WWE Hall of Fame

Lex Luger is working closely with Diamond Dallas Page.

Following an in-ring career that took him to the very top of the industry, Lex Luger has faced several serious challenges.

In 2007, the star suffered a nerve impingement which led to temporary paralysis. However, after initially making some progress, Luger has been largely confined to a wheelchair since 2021.

As he attempts to regain some mobility, Luger has worked extensively with Diamond Dallas Page on several occasions over the last decade. In more recent times, this has seen DDP working on a series of exercises aimed at helping Luger stand up from his wheelchair.

In a new video shared by the WWE Hall of Famer, Luger has managed just that.

Lex Luger Reflects On Conversations With Sting

In the video, Luger discussed the challenges he’s faced in his life and wrestling career, including the fractured relationship with his children. The former World Champion, who turned to Christianity after his battles with drugs and alcohol, also lifted the lid on a recent conversation with Sting who suggested that without his faith he’s not sure his friend would have made it.

“Sting and I, talk about, man… it’s so good I got saved before the spinal cord injury.

Steve said, man, the way you were back then you would have offed yourself because you were all about the gym and your body and walking into a room and every head turning.

He goes, ‘you lose 100lbs of muscle and being paralysed from the neck down and being in a wheelchair, I don’t think you would have made it.’”

Lex Luger has previously stated that he’d love to take his place in the WWE Hall of Fame after being inducted by Sting.
