Lex Luger Feeling Buzz For WWE Hall Of Fame Induction

Lex Luger WWE

Lex Luger has discussed his hopes for a WWE Hall of Fame induction and why 2024 might be his year at long last.

Lex Luger is a two-time WCW World Champion and six-time WCW/NWA United States Champion as well as holding the WCW/NWA Tag Team Title on three separate occasions. Luger joined WWE in 1993 to great fanfare and big things seemed to be on the horizon for him but things never quite clicked for the star in Vince McMahon’s company.

Luger made wrestling history when he appeared on the first episode of WCW Nitro to the surprise of everyone including WWE given that Luger had competed at a house show the night before his WCW return.

Given his accolades and career, Lex Luger seems to be the perfect candidate to many to have a place in the WWE Hall of Fame but so far that has not happened.

Speaking on his Lex Expressed podcast – courtesy of AdFreeShows – Lex Luger was asked about a possible induction into the WWE Hall of Fame and says he’s hopeful that it will happen, if not this year then in the future:

Wow, that would be a nice storyline. I get a little buzz every year, lately, as time has passed. A lot of people, we’ve talked about this a little bit before, people go, ‘Lex is not in? I thought he was already in.’ I get that all the time. ‘You’re not in?’ I go, ‘No, not yet. Hopefully someday because it would be such an honor.’ I always tell people it would be such an honor.

There’s definitely more buzz around it this year. I don’t know if them including me more on The Bump and some of the stuff over the last couple years, I’m not sure if there is a direct correlation there or not or if they even give it that much thought prior to a selection. Obviously, I’m flattered and honored that so many people have brought it up.

Lex Luger Appreciates Eric Bischoff’s Kind Words

Lex Luger also touched on what Eric Bischoff has said about him over the years and admitted he loves his former WCW boss – something he never thought he’d say:

Eric Bischoff, we don’t talk a lot or anything, but we have a special relationship now. The kind words he had for me, I love Eric Bischoff. I never thought that would come out of my mouth. He gave me a huge compliment on that they should put me in.

So yeah, I’m definitely complimented, flattered, and honored when people say it, and obviously what a huge honor if and when it happens for sure. If it is this year, man, that would be, like you said, storybook. If not, and it’s down the line sometime, I’m just hopeful.

Lex Luger teased an appearance for AEW Revolution where his former tag team partner Sting will have the final match of his iconic career. Sting will team with Darby Allin as they put the AEW Tag Team Championship on the line against The Young Bucks.
