Latest On Vince McMahon’s Influence On WWE Creative
Ever since Vince McMahon returned backstage at Raw in Boston, murmurings have suggested that the Executive Chairman is beginning to have more say in the creative direction of the company again.
Vince McMahon recently returned backstage to Monday Night Raw for the first time since he returned to the company leading to speculation that he’s trying to work his way back into control.
McMahon was believed to be primarily backstage at the show to visit Cena in Boston as the sixteen-time champion of the world appeared on the show to set up a huge WrestleMania match with Austin Theory. Although there have been suggestions that Vince McMahon’s presence could be more than just visiting a friend.
Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that the latest indication that McMahon was wielding influence came on Raw when an interview had to be re-taped after someone used the term “wrestler”:
“If you haven’t seen the fingerprints of Vince McMahon on camera, and there are little things here and there, there was a pre-tape interview on the 3/20 Raw where somebody used the term “wrestling” and they had to redo. Granted since Reigns and Rhodes used the term pro wrestlers in their promo on the same show.”
Vince McMahon has not been seen at WWE shows since his visit to Boston but with WrestleMania right around the corner, it remains to be seen if he can keep himself away.
