Latest On WWE Stars Who Requested Release

Reports had suggested two WWE stars on the NXT roster were on their way out of the company but now it looks like a title match might be in their future instead.

Fightful Select recently reported that The Schism’s Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler have requested their release from the company. Dave Meltzer later appeared to confirm that Reid and Fowler had been granted their release but things might not be that simple for the English pair.

Meltzer later issued a further update, noting that the situation was “up in the air” and it did not appear their request had been granted at the time.

Fowler and Reid have appeared at a taping for NXT Level Up suggesting that they could well be staying put – at least for the time being and the team were again seen on NXT television possibly setting up a future title match.

On NXT, Fowler and Reid were again featured as they were seen backstage with the rest of The Schism where they confronted Gallus. The Gallus boys are at full strength again after Joe Coffey reunited with the NXT Tag Team Champions, Mark Coffey and Wolfgang.

Gallus were wanted men as The Creed Brothers also reiterated their own title ambitions later in the show. Where this leads to and what it means for Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler’s WWE future remains to be seen.
