Latest MJF Promo Left Jim Cornette Confused
Atypical of the usual MJF style, Jim Cornette was left not knowing where the story was supposed to be going during a recent MJF promo on AEW Dynamite.
Jim Cornette has admitted to not having a clue where MJF was going with a recent promo.
Several aspects of the exchange left Cornette bewildered, with ‘The Salt of the Earth’ appearing to be beginning for sympathy as he proclaimed no one knows what it’s like to always be the bad guy. Furthermore, MJF stating he doesn’t know if he would shake Wheeler YUTA’s hand left the wrong impression in Jim Cornette’s mouth.
This comes via a recent Jim Cornette Experience podcast, as the acclaimed wrestling personality made the comments amidst rumours of MJF outright stating he doesn’t want to turn babyface:
“For the first time, I see an MJF segment. And I’m like, I don’t know what the f*ck is going on. MJF was with Officer Barbrady, our friend Alex Marvez. And Stokely [Hathaway] comes in and MJF talks down to him, which was fine, and he was very condescending. Strike two, because he f*cked up a couple of times now, one more and you’re fired. And then he talks about William Regal and the situation there, and he doesn’t know if he would have shaken Wheeler useless’ [YUTA] hand. But this whole thing was, ‘You don’t know what it’s like to be MJF, you don’t know what it’s like to be the bad guy.’ I wrote what’s going on here?
This is getting deep, and I’m not talking about psychologically as much as the bullsh*t factor. Are they trying to set him up to be a sympathetic figure? You don’t know how hard it is to be the bad guy? Or is this something that he thought of saying and he did it on his own and it didn’t necessarily land? I can understand him whining about how hard it is to be him and his greatness, that’s a heelish thing, but it sounded like he was trying to be taken somewhat seriously and or commiserated with over it.”
MJF is now on track to challenge Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship at Full Gear on November 19th, using the opportunity he won be claiming the poker chip in the Casino Ladder match at All Out.
