Latest On What Will Main Event WrestleMania 39 Night 1
The main event of WrestleMania Saturday could be confirmed, if a new report is to be believed.
There is only one match on the first night of WrestleMania 39 in Hollywood where we know exactly when it will be positioned. The United States Championship contest between Austin Theory and John Cena will open the show, despite taking top billing on the match card announcements which were released.
This has led to speculation whether the SmackDown Women’s Championship or Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship match will be in the headline spot. Differing reports have been circulating, and Sami Zayn has even revealed that he isn’t sure at this stage whether he’s the main event or not.
The new report from The Wrestling Observer has revealed that it’s likely Zayn won’t be in the top spot, and that’ll go to Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley. It also discussed how the crowd reaction in the match will be interesting.
Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley for the Smackdown Women’s Title – this was the planned main event as of a few weeks ago, but that decision could change. Even though Flair is the face and Ripley is part of a top heel team and sidekick to Dominik, the most hated wrestler in the promotion, the crowd reactions here will be interesting. A lot of people have expected Ripley to be cheered, because it’s a Mania crowd that likes to see new stars christened and a Ripley win over Flair would be that moment they want – a major happening.
Plenty has been released in advance of ‘The Showcase Of The Immortals’, including the cold open for the show which is presented by Kevin Hart.
