Lance Storm Calls Vince Russo “Complete Moron” And Reveals Bizarre Storyline Pitch
It’s fair to say that Lance Storm wasn’t a fan of Vince Russo, who he called a “complete moron” on social media while also revealing a bizarre storyline pitch.
Lance Storm first became a household name in pro wrestling in ECW where he worked from 1997 until leaving for WCW, which is where he debuted in June 2000.
Upon his arrival in WCW, Storm was booked very well as a midcard heel that also led a Team Canada group since he’s from Calgary…Alberta…Canada. While in WCW, Lance Storm was a three-time US Champion, a Cruiserweight Champion and a Hardcore Champion. He also held all three of them at the same time.
Since he worked for WCW, he got a chance to work with former head writer Vince Russo, who was in charge of the company’s storylines in late 1999 and in the mid-2000s.
During a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Vince Russo was whining about the lack of storytelling in pro wrestling today while claiming it’s all about the “fake match.” That led to a tweet about how The Bloodline recently had a 40-minute promo/brawl segment on Smackdown recently. Lance Storm chimed in on Twitter to call Russo a “complete moron” among other things.
“He’s a complete moron. The Bloodline is a classic character driven story and it’s the best one since who even knows when. The fact that he states the “fake match” but not fake character or fake story shows his contempt for wrestling.”

As the discussion continued, Lance Storm also revealed that Vince Russo didn’t see anything in him and pitched a story to make Storm the illegitimate child of Eric Bischoff.
No idea. Was told Russo didn’t see anything in me and Ace was the one that said “Give him to me for 6 weeks, he’ll be the hottest heel we have” Russo’s pitch to me was making me Bischoff’s illegitimate son. 🤦♂️ https://t.co/vI8ebjJ1Go

After WCW bought WWE, Lance Storm worked for WWE from 2001 to 2005. Since then, he has run a wrestling school, been a trainer and currently works for Impact Wrestling as a Producer.
