LA Knight Hits Back At WWE Match Criticism

LA Knight WWE

LA Knight has hit back at a fan for “throwing live event crowds under the bus.”

At a WWE live event on May 11th in Chattanooga, Tennessee, LA Knight got the better of Santos Escobar to move into the quarter-finals of the King of the Ring. Knight will now meet Tama Tonga on the May 17th episode of SmackDown.

Elsewhere on the same card, Tiffany Stratton defeated Michin in another first-round match to advance in the Queen of the Ring tournament. A day later, more first-round matches were held at a live event in Georgia, with Kofi Kingston and Shayna Baszler picking up wins.

While the decision to have matches with stakes at live events has been greeted largely positively by fans and observers, not everyone is impressed.

In reaction to LA Knight’s win, one fan took up the issue with the man himself on social media, saying the match shouldn’t have been relegated to Chattanooga. In response, Knight took the fan to task for being so dismissive of live events.

I appreciate everyone saying this match should’ve been on TV. But, no need to throw live event crowds under the bus.

Live events are where the @WWE roster has as much fun as possible.

Not only having a great match, but a match with HUGE stakes makes the live events more fun!🚀

Cody Rhodes Wants LA Knight

After his win over Escobar, Knight will shift his focus to his match with Tonga, but it seems there could be even bigger things to come.

Speaking after his win over AJ Styles at Backlash, Cody Rhodes said he’d love to face LA Knight. The American Nightmare said that despite the pair being babyfaces they could still tell an interesting story both in and out of the ring.
