Kevin Owens is celebrating a significant WWE anniversary while one of his biggest rivals decided to take a shot at him.

It was ten years ago today on August 12, 2014 when WWE officially announced that Kevin Owens had signed with the company. Before working for WWE, Owens made a name for himself as Kevin Steen (his real name) in promotions like ROH, PWG, and the independent wrestling scene.

The story was such a big deal that WWE even made a post on their website that included congratulatory tweets from legends like Steve Austin and The Rock.

To celebrate the 10-year anniversary, the 40-year-old Owens did a tweet sharing the post on WWE’s website.

While a lot of people are celebrating KO’s ten-year run in WWE which has seen him win the Universal Title, Tag Team Titles, Intercontinental Title, United States Title and headline two WrestleManias, some of his rivals are taking shots at him.

One of those rivals is Grayson Waller, who has had issues with Kevin Owens over the last few months. After the WWE draft this past spring, Owens enjoyed punching Waller and his ally Austin Theory a lot, so Waller hasn’t forgotten about that.

Grayson Waller went on X/Twitter to complain about Kevin Owens being handed a WWE Title match.

Huge congrats mate! It’s a shame we don’t get this Kevin Owens anymore. Instead we get you simping for Cody Rhodes and being handed pity title matches #SimpOwensSimp

Kevin Owens Receiving WWE Title Match At Bash In Berlin

The match that Waller was referring to goes back to this past Friday on WWE Smackdown when Kevin Owens was offered an opportunity by Cody Rhodes to face Cody for the WWE Title at Bash in Berlin on August 31st. Cody was doing it because Owens has been watching his back for months as Cody deals with The Bloodline and others coming after him.

At first, Owens was reluctant to accept the title shot because he claimed he didn’t deserve it. However, when Smackdown GM Nick Aldis suggested that perhaps Roman Reigns should be given that title shot, Owens shot that down due to his long history with Reigns and Owens said he would take the title shot. The match was made official shortly after that.

Congratulations to Kevin Owens on ten years in WWE.
