Keith Lee Believes He Can Be AEW World Champion
Having recently returned to our screens, Keith Lee is confident he can make history when becoming AEW World Champion.
Currently embroiled in a bitter rivalry with former tag team partner Swerve Strickland, ‘Limitless’ Keith Lee recently made his return to AEW programming when he stopped his former partner from attacking Dustin Rhodes in a similar vein. Whilst the pair are clearly on a collision course, there can be no surprise Lee has his sights set beyond this rivalry.
In a discussion with The Masked Man Show, Keith Lee has made it clear that he wants to be AEW World Champion one day, and that he feels he would be able to carry the title and the company in the manner it needs to be.
Oh, I mean, let’s be honest here. Any place or any time that an individual goes to a company, it doesn’t have to be sports related or physical, When you go somewhere, most people [have goals or ambitions] of being that number one talent, that number one person, that number one mine, whatever it may be. The end goal is obviously to become AEW World Heavyweight Champion, and let’s be honest, I’m really good at making history. I would be [AEW’s first] black World Heavyweight Champion. I’m more than capable of doing that, I’m more than capable of carrying myself in a way that would be fitting and beneficial to a company.
Keith Lee was released from his WWE contract in November 2021, following a short run with the nickname ‘Bearcat’. Having waited out his non-compete clause, he made his way to All Elite Wrestling in February 2022, making a successful debut against Isiah Kassidy. He has held the AEW Tag Team Championships, however is yet to hold singles gold in the company.
