Karrion Kross recently started playing mind games with Rey Mysterio on WWE Smackdown and is also open about being a big fan of the legendary luchador.

This past Friday on the December 9th edition of Smackdown, Karrion Kross and his wife Scarlett paid a visit to Rey Mysterio in the WWE trainer’s room. Mysterio has been out of action for several weeks due to a foot injury, but he’s expected to return to active competition soon.

Kross was there to issue to play some mind games with Mysterio and issue a warning of sorts. Kross said that Scarlett is from Romania and she told him this story about a thoroughbred horse. Over time, the horse couldn’t move as fast as it used to and it became a workhorse. Scarlett never forgot the look in the horse’s eyes because he was totally useless. Kross said it’s a sad thing when it gets to a point where you have to put an animal out of its misery. Two security guys showed up, so Kross said that there was no problem and Kross said “tick, tock” to Rey, who said nothing.

When he’s not on WWE TV, Karrion Kross is openly talking about how excited he is to work with Rey Mysterio. That’s what Kross told Peter Rosenberg of Cheap Heat recently with Kross saying he was “over the moon” to work with Mysterio.

“There were like three luchadors that I had on my list, four, actually, for many years. I spent half of my career in Mexico. I was in AAA working major cities and television programs. I’m a very big lucha libre fan, I understand it and speak the language. (The list) was Dr. Wagner, Pentagon, Fenix, and Rey. Getting Rey, checking that name off the list after all these years had been very difficult and it seems like it’s going to happen right now.”

“I remember the first I saw Rey, it was against Juvi [Juventud Guerrera] in ECW, I want to say 96. The powerbomb on the car on the outside. It was unbelievable, it was like hardcore lucha libre.”

Kross excitedly spoke about the creative process of working with Mysterio.

“I’m very excited about this and I’m getting ready to give people something unique and interesting to Rey’s total overall story arc that they haven’t seen yet before. I’m going to get into some really interesting things, if permitted to, and I think I will be. We’re collaboratively and creatively ready to embrace that process. So far, since I’m gone back, I’ve been very happy.”

Since re-joining WWE this summer, Kross had a lengthy rivalry with Drew McIntyre that saw Kross pick up a win at Extreme Rules thanks to Scarlett, but Drew was able to get the win to end the rivalry in a Steel Cage match at Crown Jewel. Kross likely hopes that his feud with Mysterio leads to better results.
