Jungle Jack Perry’s 2025 AEW Run Ends on Rough Note

Jack Perry AEW Dynamite entrance

AEW hosted its final pay-per-view of the year this past weekend with World’s End emanating live from the Now Arena in Chicago, Illinois. They followed that up with a special edition of Dynamite tonight.

The Dynamite: New Year’s Smash episode saw the fallout from World’s End, which also seeped into matches that took place during the Zero Hour of the PPV.

In one of the matches on the pre-show, the Jurassic Express teamed with JetSpeed to defeat the team of Josh Alexander and The Demand. The match ended when Jungle Jack Perry pinned the AEW National Champion, Ricochet, leading to their match tonight.

Ricochet retains the AEW National Championship

Ricochet put his National Championship on the line against Jungle Jack Perry, who looked to win his first singles title in AEW since winning the TNT Championship at Forbidden Door 2024.

Both men were accompanied to the ring by their teammates, as Luchasaurus and GOA were present in each man’s corner. Luchasaurus and Toa Liona got into an altercation during the match and chased him out of the ringside arena.

This left Jack Perry alone with Bishop Kaun still on Ricochet’s side, and this ultimately caused Perry’s downfall. Kaun distracted Perry long enough for Ricochet to hit him with a Spirit Gun to retain his title.
