Jon Moxley Taking Control Of NJPW Star
Jon Moxley is ready to use his powers of manipulation on an NJPW wrestler.
It has been a big year for Jon Moxley considering he won New Japan’s IWGPW World Title back in April and at AEW WrestleDream, he beat Bryan Danielson to win the AEW World Title for a record fourth time.
For the past few months, Moxley broke away from the Blackpool Combat Club and started his own thing. Moxley’s group known as the Death Riders consists of Claudio Castagnoli, Pac, Wheeler Yuta and Marina Shafir, who can often be seen carrying around a briefcase that has the AEW World Title in it.
Shota Umino is a wrestler that Moxley took under his wing in the past. Umino is a star on the rise since he will challenge Zack Sabre Jr. for the IWGP World Title on January 4 at Wrestle Kingdom 19.
During the Fighting Spirit Unleashed show on Friday, Jon Moxley appeared on the screen with a message for Umino. In Moxley’s message, he let Umino know that Moxley would be sending somebody to deliver a message to Umino.
“Shooter, my man, you have made a mistake, a grave mistake. You’ve travelled down a dark path, a dark way of thinking. I’m not mad, I’m just very disappointed.
“Let’s go back to our first principles – we don’t care what anybody thinks, we don’t care what anybody says. What are you reading, what are you listening to, what’s gotten inside your head?
“We’re gonna continue your education, and I will send an emissary to the Tokyo Dome to fix this problem you’re having. And we’ll continue moulding you into the champion that I know you can be.”
Shota Umino Wants To Fight Jon Moxley
In response to what Moxley said, there was an unfavorable response from Umino.
“Send somebody to the Tokyo Dome. Wheeler Yuta, Pac or Claudio Castagnoli, I don’t care.
“I’ll beat them at the Tokyo Dome, f**k it, I don’t care. I want to fight you. F**k you, Jon Moxley!”
As for his own future, Jon Moxley has an AEW World Title defense at the Full Gear PPV on November 23rd. Moxley will face popular AEW wrestler Orange Cassidy at that show.
