Jon Moxley – “I Like To Step Into A Cage And Attack People With Weapons”

Jon Moxley

Jon Moxley has explained what he likes to do in a pro wrestling ring while also making it clear that he really enjoys it.

For the past decade, wrestling fans have gotten to know Jon Moxley well from his run as Dean Ambrose in WWE that began in late 2012 until his departure in 2019 to his current run in AEW over the last four years.

The difference between AEW and WWE is that while his former employer is a PG company that doesn’t want to have bloody matches, AEW is a place where they welcome blood. Most fans that watch AEW know that Jon Moxley likes to bleed a lot during matches while making jokes that a toothpick touching his forehead might cause blood to start flowing.

This past Wednesday on the February 1st edition of AEW Dynamite, a bloody Moxley avenged his loss to “Hangman” Adam Page by countering a move for a cradle pin. It wasn’t a decisive win, but it showed that Moxley can always get the job done.

Jon Moxley is the only three-time AEW World Champion in company history. During a recent appearance on The Justin Kinner Show, Moxley spoke about his love for pro wrestling while explaining that he enjoys the art of pro wrestling.

“If I were smart, I would try to get the most amount of money for the least amount of work possible, but believe it or not, in professional wrestling, I used to do it on purpose and for free, and still do because I enjoy it. It’s recreation for me as much as anything else. What else are you going to do with your time? It’s the coolest job in the world. Some people like to go golfing, I like to step into a cage and attack people with weapons and stab people with sharp things.”

“There is really no other level of adrenaline you can reach at a certain point when you’ve been doing this as long as I have. I need it for my soul to get out there and get loose and get a good sweat on. Get a little blood coming from my eyebrow, it’s relaxing to me. I enjoy pro wrestling.”
