Jon Moxley Makes Shock PWG Debut
Jon Moxley has made his latest independent wrestling debut.
Making the first-time ever appearance for Pro Wrestling Guerilla, Mox would wrestle at the PWG Twenty: Mystery Vortex event on August 13th. The unique show sees no matches or participants announced ahead of time, with fans only knowing what is about to take place at the entrances.
Moxley would face Titus Alexander in the second match on the card, winning his debut match for the promotion. Multiple AEW contracted talent would also compete at the event, with Daniel Garcia retaining the PWG Championship in a 60-minute Ironman match against “Speedball” Mike Bailey in the main event.
Moxley has been known to make surprise appearances on independent shows since signing with All Elite Wrestling. In 2021, the former AEW Champion would shockingly appear at GCW’s The Art of War Games event to defeat Matt Cardona to become the new GCW World Champion. Mox would hold onto the title for just over a year before being defeated by Nick Gage.
Jon Moxley Booked For More Independent Wrestling Events
Although signed to All Elite Wrestling, Moxley is allowed to take independent bookings provided they do not clash with any scheduled appearances with AEW. Over The Top Wrestling in the UK have announced that Mox will appear for them on 2 separate occasions in October, with one show taking place in Wolverhampton and the other in Dublin.
Prior to the OTT booking, it is likely that Moxley will be a part of AEW All in on August 27th. No members of The Blackpool Combat Club have been announced for a match at Wembley Stadium, but being one of the most popular groups in the company, a scheduled bout is inevitable.
