Jon Moxley Confirmed For Huge Title Match At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door

Jon Moxley will face a familiar rival at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.

At NJPW Dominion, Jon Moxley got the better of Evil to retain the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Evil had been gunning for Moxley ever since he won the gold with a win over Tetsuya Naito at NJPW Windy City Riot.

After grabbing the win, Moxley laid down a challenge to anyone who dared face him at Forbidden Door. While the prospect of a match with the champion might not be everyone’s idea of fun, the challenge was quickly answered by Naito.

Not one to shy away from a fight, Moxley agreed to put the World Title on the line.

AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door is set to take place on June 30th.

Jon Moxley Will Be Remembered As One Of The Greats

Meanwhile, in a recent interview, Bryan Danielson talked up Jon Moxley and the impact he’s had on the wrestling industry. The American Dragon said Moxley should be considered “one of the very best in the world,” adding there’s no one else like him.

“I admire what he’s been able to do. I admire the risks he’s taken and the performances he puts in every single time he goes out there.”

Moxley and Danielson most recently teamed together on the June 5th episode of Dynamite where they also joined up with fellow BCC members Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta to defeat Esfinge, Magnus, Rugido, and Volador Jr.
