Johnny Gargano Return Teased On Raw

Johnny Gargano

A line used on Monday Night Raw has led many to expect that the return of Johnny Gargano to WWE is coming sooner rather than later.

Now under the direction of Triple H following the retirement of Vince McMahon, there have already been plenty of surprises and returns based on what came out of the black and gold era of NXT, including the returns of Dakota Kai, Karrion Kross and Scarlett. All were released from their contracts under McMahon, but are now back with the company and in prime roles.

The 8th August 2022 edition of Monday Night Raw emanated from Cleveland, Ohio and many fans thought that the show would mark the return of Johnny Gargano in his hometown. The former NXT Champion allowed his contract to expire in April this year, and has played his cards close to his chest about where he is going to appear next.

On the show Bobby Lashley defended his United States Championship against Gargano’s former #DIY tag team partner, Ciampa. As the match went on, Ciampa managed to lock his partner’s Gargano Escape on the title holder with Corey Graves exclaiming “if you want something done, you have to do it yourself”. It isn’t known at this stage whether the line from Graves was intentional.

The influx of talent from NXT both past and present continued on the show, with Dexter Lumis appearing at ringside before being dragged away by police officers.

Both Gargano and Lumis were members of The Way during their time in NXT, which also included Theory, Indi Hartwell, and Gargano’s real-life wife Candice LeRae.
