John Cena Names WWE Rival The Greatest Of All Time

John Cena

John Cena has hailed a current WWE star as the greatest of all time.

The 16-time World Champion made his main roster debut in 2002 and after a couple of initial missteps quickly rose to become one of WWE’s biggest stars. This saw Cena clash with some of the biggest names in the industry, both past and present, including the likes of The Rock, Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker, Randy Orton, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and many more.

However, Cena believes one name stands above all others.

Speaking during an appearance on After The Bell, Cena paid tribute to Roman Reigns, breaking down why he feels he’s the greatest of all time.

“He’s a sponge. And he’s athletic and super intelligent, is a fan of this. And I mean all of this. And, most importantly, a fan of psychology. I say the WWE Universe is the biggest superstar we have. Roman navigated those waters without them. And here’s the thing with Roman, I don’t think Roman is Roman if he doesn’t have a time to work in front of no crowd.

Because the crowd was so against the fact that the company believes in Roman Reigns, I set the precedent of I’m the company guy see ya, so everyone has a tough hill to climb once they become pushed. And there’s a giant worry behind the curtain. We all know that too. We all know, okay, we got to be careful with how this happens. Because we don’t want to we don’t want this to happen. That absolutely happened with Roman. And then it was when the crowd wasn’t there, that Joe could take more chances that Roman could be himself.

There wasn’t anyone to be like, that sucked or didn’t work, because you don’t have the instant feedback. So night after night, he becomes this extremely nuanced, soft spoken character, which is not the “Welcome to SmackDown” everybody that that they’re used to. And as soon as they bring people back in, he had done such riveting programming, that it’s like, man, now I want to see this guy. And he has just done it better than I’ve ever seen. He’s the greatest of all time in my opinion.”

Cena and Reigns have come face to face in a number of memorable clashes in the ring and on the microphone, with the Tribal Chief more often than not picking up the win.

John Cena To Wrestle At Crown Jewel

Although Cena hasn’t wrestled Roman Reigns since the pair clashed in a tag team match on SmackDown in December 2022, his issues with The Bloodline continue. As a result, Cena will meet Solo Sikoa at Crown Jewel on November 4th.

The match will see Solo Sikoa join a very exclusive John Cena-related club.

At the same event, Roman Reigns will defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Title against LA Knight.
