John Cena is finishing his WWE in-ring career at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

It’s not a premium live event, but a special event. However, it has gained the popularity that WWE expected and is one that fans look forward to.

Some of the matches that don’t make it to premium live events are chalked up to Saturday Night’s Main Event, making it as good as a PLE.

John Cena’s WWE retirement match did not need to be at WrestleMania

On Cafe de Rene with Rene Dupree, a fan asked why WWE isn’t doing the retirement match at WrestleMania. To this, former WWE Superstar revealed that WrestleMania does not need that match to sell tickets, given that the event itself is good enough to sell tickets.

So, Cena’s retirement match would be like the extra icing on top, which is not needed.

You don’t need it. You don’t need it. Mania sells itself. Mania Mania sells itself. You like that’s just, you know, Yeah. Semi extra extra That’s extra icing on a cake. You don’t need it.

John Cena will face Gunther in his final match. However, not everyone is convinced that The Ring General is the right choice for the match, given that it seems to be pulled out of nowhere with no history between the superstars.
