John Cena Officially Ends Another Chapter After WWE Retirement
John Cena is set to retire in less than 10 days.
Cena’s final WWE match is scheduled for December 13, 2025, at Saturday Night’s Main Event at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
The opponents vying for the spot to face Cena in this final match are Gunther and LA Knight.
Gunther defeated Solo Sikoa, and LA Knight defeated Jey Uso to advance to this final match.
They will compete in a tournament final on the December 5, 2025, episode of WWE SmackDown to determine who will face Cena.
Gunther is the favored choice and is considered a top contender, but LA Knight has momentum and is seen as a strong challenger.
That said, ahead of his retirement bout, Cena attended the recent episode of the Jimmy Kimmel Live show.
Kimmel asked if Cena will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the You Can’t See Me album with the release of another album.
Cena responded by saying his rap career is done.
“No way, that chapter is closed. Just like we’re closing the WWE chapter on the 13th, the hip-hop chapter is closed. … Every year I try to listen to it. I’m very proud of it. I look back on it proudly, and I’m very proud of what we did,” Cena said.
John Cena’s Doctor of Thuganomics Is Officially Retired
During a Q&A Panel at Liverpool, John Cena said the same thing when asked if fans would see him continue his rap/music career after WWE retirement. Cena has officially retired from being a professional musician/rapper and only sings for personal pleasure.
Host: You had so many musical numbers that again, we can’t really repeat here, but you can carry a hell of a tune, and you’ve done your own theme songs in WWE. Is there a more musical side of John Cena that we might see someday?
Not that you’ll see. I think that the music is for me. I also think now in a day and age where, like, we share everything, we want to make sure the world knows exactly what we’re doing.
I believe there’s a bunch of equity in keeping things for you because you don’t do it for any other reason other than yourself. There is a musical side to me. None of you will ever see it. (From 14:14)
