John Cena “Took Away From SmackDown Segment” Says WWE Hall Of Famer

John Cena

John Cena’s antics on SmackDown didn’t sit well with a WWE Hall of Famer.

John Cena opened the October 13th edition of SmackDown, but before he could say much to the audience, he was interrupted by the return of Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

After Reigns ordered Cena to leave the ring, he admitted that he hadn’t earned the right to challenge him, but he knew a man who had. With that LA Knight made his way to the ring to confront the Head of the Table.

Knight and Reigns had a short back-and-forth before Jimmy Uso attacked the Megastar. Knight quickly disposed of him, and Reigns and his entourage left the ring.

Mark Henry blasts John Cena for drawing attention to himself

On the latest edition of Busted Open, WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry said his main takeaway from the segment was John Cena drawing attention away from the rest of the stars.

“The number one thing was [Cena] drawing attention to himself. You cannot [do that] when something is going on in the ring.

“I remember I did that with Ron Simmons one time. Once. Because he said, ‘Shut the f*** up!’ on TV. [He meant,] ‘Don’t move, don’t say anything. I’m working.’ And I drew attention away from him, and I wasn’t supposed to say nothing so I shouldn’t have said nothing.”

Henry explained that during the showdown between Knight and Reigns, Cena was making exaggerated facial expressions and generally overacting in the background.

The World’s Strongest Man claimed the antics took away from the segment.

“We know the obvious reason why — because he’s John Cena. All of the antics and the ‘Hey, look at me’ — it took away from the segment.”
