John Cena To Lose Against 40-Year-Old WWE Star Before Retirement?

John Cena WWE

John Cena has only four WWE appearances left before retirement.

The Leader of the Cenation kicked off his retirement tour last January. He has since squared off with several top WWE Superstars and legends, including Cody Rhodes, Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, and AJ Styles.

During a recent episode of the Keepin’ It 100 podcast, wrestling veteran Disco Inferno discussed Cena’s potential final opponents. While he brushed off the idea of having The Miz share the ring with The Never Seen 17 one more time, he claimed Drew McIntyre would be an interesting pick.

The former WCW star suggested that The Scottish Warrior would benefit from beating the 17-time world champion.

I don’t like The Miz and Cena. He’s only got a couple matches left. I do like Drew. I think Drew beating him would be a good result for Drew. [5:58 onwards]

WWE Veteran Felt Appreciated After Facing John Cena Twice In 2025

John Cena only faced two superstars twice on his retirement tour: Cody Rhodes and R-Truth. After the Leader of the Cenation beat Truth at Saturday Night’s Main Event in May, the latter defeated the 17-time world champion via disqualification on SmackDown the following month.

In a recent interview with CBS Sports, Truth disclosed that he felt honored and appreciated being one of only two stars to share the ring with Cena twice this year.

I’m tickled pink, dog. I love it. It’s a humbling thing. I feel honored. I feel appreciated. I feel like a lot of fans know the history we’ve had. People have paid attention. There are so many things that go around with that. It’s hard to pick one good emotion out of it.
