John Cena Announced For Tag Team Match At WWE Superstar Spectacle
It has been announced that John Cena will be in a tag team match on WWE’s upcoming Superstar Spectacle event in India.
John Cena will make his return to WWE SmackDown this Friday, September 1st in Hershey, Pennsylvania. While WWE has yet to announce what Cena will be doing at the show, it’s likely that Cena will talk about the upcoming Superstar Spectacle event taking place on September 8th.
Superstar Spectacle is a WWE live event featuring the Raw roster taking place at Hyderabad, India on Friday, September 8th. Since it’s on the same night as Smackdown, it’s only the Raw roster that will be a part of it.
The WWEIndia Twitter/X account announced what match John Cena will be a part of at the show. Cena will team up with the current World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freakin” Rollins to take on Imperium’s Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni in tag team action.

It’s possible that Rollins will go into that match without the World Heavyweight Championship since he will have to defend it this Saturday, September 2nd at Payback.
In addition to the Cena/Rollins vs. Kaiser/Vinci match, WWE has also announced Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn defending the WWE Tag Team Titles against Indus Sher’s Veer & Sanga at the event.
Superstar Spectacle Will Be John Cena’s Second WWE Match This Year
The John Cena-Seth Rollins tag team match against Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci tag team match will be Cena’s second match of 2023. The first match was at WrestleMania 39 Saturday when Austin Theory beat Cena to retain the US Title. Cena looked like he had the match won at one point, but the referee was down. Theory came back to get the big win.
As most WWE fans know, John Cena has had an incredible streak of wrestling at least one WWE match every year since 2002. Last year, he wrestled in his only match on the second last day of 2022 (December 30 on Smackdown) when he teamed up with Kevin Owens to beat Sami Zayn & Roman Reigns in a tag team match.
