John Cena has given his thoughts on ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin’s announcement that he will accept Kevin Owens’ challenge for WrestleMania 38.

‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin step back into the ring at WrestleMania 38 in Dallas, Texas. Fan excitement went through the roof when ‘The Texas Rattlesnake’ accepted the challenge made by Kevin Owens on the latest episode of Raw.

While it’s unclear if Steve Austin will be competing in a formal match or starting a brawl on the KO Show, we do know that he plans on getting very physical with Owens when he hits the ring.

Whatever the WWE Hall of Famer is planning to do at the ‘Showcase of the immortals’, one fan who can’t contain his excitement about Autin’s return is 16-time World Champion John Cena, who took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the news.

“Never in the history of #StoneColdFriday did I think I’d see this!! Excited for @SteveAustinBSR, excited 4 the @WWE Universe and I’m excited for #WrestleMania!!!!”

‘Stone Cold Friday’ is a reference to Cena’s tradition of posting Stone Cold memes on Instagram.

After weeks of speculation, Kevin Owens laid down a WrestleMania challenge to Stone Cold Steve Austin on the March 7th edition of Raw.

Earlier in the night, Owens and Seth Rollins had been unsuccessful in their quest to capture the Raw Tag Team Titles, leaving KO’s hopes of appearing at WrestleMania 38 in doubt. However, he later returned to the ring to announce that he was going to host the most ‘stupendous KO Show in history’ and proceeded to call out Steve Austin.

In the video accepting the challenge, Austin promised that he would not only meet Owens at WrestleMania, but open up “one last can of whoop-ass” on the former Universal Champion.

“Whether you wanna call this a KO Show, a match, a fight, a brawl, whatever. I will guarantee you this. In Dallas, Texas where I started my career, at WrestleMania, Stone Cold Steve Austin is gonna open up one last can of whoop-ass on you Kevin Owens.

And that’s the bottom line, ’cause Stone Cold said so.”

Steve Austin hasn’t wrestled since being defeated by The Rock At WrestleMania XIX in March 2003.
