John Cena & Ron Killings About To Tie Obscure WWE Record
John Cena has already made history in WWE, but now he and Ron Killings are set to put their names next to a more obscure record.
The wrestling world was shocked when R-Truth revealed his time in WWE was coming to an end as his contract was not being renewed. That led to even more surprise when R-Truth made his quick return at Money In The Bank, where he took out John Cena.
It later emerged that Nick Khan intervened and was instrumental in bringing R-Truth back into the fold, albeit with a twist. The fun-loving goofball WWE fans have known for the past 13 years is now gone, and a serious, respect-hunting Ron Killings is taking the company by storm.
Killings has continued his assaults on Cena, most recently locking him in the STF on SmackDown as Cena tries to prepare to defend his WWE Championship at Night of Champions against CM Punk. Killings had also challenged Cena to a match on the following week’s SmackDown as hostilities between the pair look set to continue.
John Cena Makes More WWE History
WWEStats has now noted that match will see John Cena and Ron Killings tie an obscure record in the company. The two men will become only the second pair in history to have clashed in singles matches on Raw, SmackDown, Saturday Night’s Main Event, and a premium live event. The first two men to achieve that feat were Edge and Jeff Hardy.
Truth and Cena clashed in a singles match on Raw back in 2011 before Cena successfully defended his WWE Title against him at Capitol Punishment in the same year. Their Saturday Night’s Main Event match took place just days before Truth announced his impending WWE exit, which is no longer happening.
