John Cena Reacts To Father’s Controversial Comments: “What The F**k Are You Doing?”

John Cena on WWE Raw

John Cena’s last match is fast approaching, and his final opponent has finally revealed himself.

Gunther defeated LA Knight on the latest episode of SmackDown and will face John Cena at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13th, 2025.

The Champ’s final match will be it. He has claimed that he isn’t going to be the superstar who says it will be his last match and then returns for another match. This will be his final match.

John Cena’s reaction to his father’s comments

Recently, Never Seen 17 appeared on the Joe Rogan Experience. In that conversation, he discussed his father’s comments where John Cena Sr. shot down the idea of The Champ facing Gunther in the final match. Furthermore, his father claimed that he did not understand the notion of putting someone else over in the final match or passing the torch.

John Cena reacted negatively to the comments, revealing that he would like to call his father and ask why he said what he said.

Man, there’s some shit he’ll say that is all fucked up. He said some shit yesterday, ‘I don’t think John’s last opponent….’ and people listen to him because he’s a wrestling fan and is in the weird subculture zeitgeist. I want to call my dad and be like, ‘What the fuck are you doing?’ He’s doing what he does. This is the John Cena that I love.

Here is what John Cena’s father said

Well it certainly wouldn’t be Gunther, that’s for sure. I don’t think that that’s a wise move. I don’t think the fans would enjoy that move. Myself, personally, Gunther does not need the rub. By the way, I’m not a fan of on the way out you’ve got to push somebody over the top. You’re supposed to pass quote unquote the torch. I don’t know whether that’s written anywhere in professional wrestling. [h/t: Fightful]
