John Cena Lands Starring Role In Netflix Film

WWE legend John Cena

John Cena has signed a film set for a Netflix release.

The movie will also feature Hollywood star Kevin Hart, who will produce it alongside Cena.

Titled The Leading Man, the film is an action comedy based on the 5-issue graphic novel of the same name by Jeremy Haun and B. Clay Moore.

The film is in its early stages and has the following plotline:

When a self-absorbed movie star (Cena) discovers that his co-star/man in the chair (Hart) is an actual agent, he’s forced to swallow his pride and accept that action stars aren’t really action heroes…while trying to save the world.

Cena has previously worked with Kevin Hart after appearing on Season 2 of Die Hart as the character Mr. 206.

John Cena recently headlined the Amazon Prime movie Heads of State, which also starred Idris Elba.

John Cena’s Next Challenge Revealed

John Cena, who is on his retirement tour, has 12 dates remaining.

The 17-time world champion opened the August 8 episode of SmackDown in Montreal, Quebec.

While Cena did not address his title loss to Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam, he brought up the attack by Brock Lesnar after the main event match.

He also delivered a stern message to The Beat Incarnate, despite appearing vulnerable.

Am I afraid? Hell yes. I’m afraid Brock Lesnar just got himself a John Cena problem. I’m afraid that every single WWE Superstar just got themselves a big old John Cena problem. Time is winding down and if any of y’all saw SummerSlam, you know that I’m not going down without a fight. So Brock Lesnar, when you want some, come and get some.

He was interrupted by YouTube star Logan Paul, who challenged him at Clash of Paris, which Cena accepted.

Also, in the SmackDown main event, John Cena partnered with Cody Rhodes against Paul and Drew McIntyre. It ended in a disqualification after McIntyre hit Rhodes with the championship belt.
