How John Cena Helped Bianca Belair After Shock Loss

Bianca Belair

Bianca Belair has revealed that John Cena really helped her mindset after one of the most shocking losses of her WWE career.

It was at SummerSlam 2021 when Bianca Belair had been set to defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Sasha Banks. That match didn’t happen, and although Carmella was then set to be the opponent it was the surprise return of Becky Lynch which changed things again.

Dispatching Carmella, ‘The Man’ ended up beating Belair in just 26 seconds to claim the title. The pair would end up feuding for a year, again facing one another at SummerSlam 2022.

In a discussion on Out of Character with Ryan Satin, Bianca Belair has spoken of how tough the moment was, but that John Cena was there and helped turn her mindset around.

Sometimes when you think it can be the worst thing that’s happening, and then it flourishes into this beautiful year long storyline, and it all comes full circle, and that’s what it did for me. But in the moment, it can be tough. That 26 second moment was tough for me. I remember going to my husband. We always allow each other to vent.

Then we’re like,’ Okay, I’m validating your feelings, but how do we get out of this? Like, we can’t stay here in this mindset. Let’s look at the bigger picture.’ Then John Cena was there. He pulled me aside and he talked to me. He really helped me with my perspective of that, and it’s going to carry with me for the rest of my career.

Bianca Belair also recently revealed how nervous she was ahead of the first time she had to participate in a ladder match.
