John Cena Would Have “Horrible Match” With Ex-Rival In Final WWE Match
John Cena will wrestle his last match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13 in Washington, DC. His final opponent will be decided through a tournament.
On the November 10 edition of Monday Night RAW, Rusev advanced in the “Last Time Is Now” tournament by defeating Damian Priest. Many fans and critics see The Bulgarian Brute winning the tournament and facing Cena in his retirement match. They also have a lot of history together in WWE. Their rivalry in 2015 was centered around the United States Championship.
Dutch Mantell Says No To John Cena Vs. Rusev
However, veteran Dutch Manetll believes the former WWE United States Champion Rusev is not suited to handle John Cena’s retirement match. Speaking on his Story Time podcast, Mantell stated that Rusev vs Cena will be a “horrible” match.
Mantell said, “I think him and Rusev would be a horrible match. I really do. See, because Cena has his best matches with bullsh*t-type guys, and that’s what he does, and he can play into that. That’s why I’m saying, and that’s the reason I put Logan Paul in there. Not necessarily a great, great wrestling match, but a very creative type of match. I can’t see Rusev being that creative.” (From 9:53)
On the other hand, Mantell stated that The Maverick Logan Paul would be a decent opponent for Cena’s farewell tour. He even suggested that Paul should be the one to dethrone Cena as the WWE Intercontinental Champion.
“I think, and you told me to say who would be a good opponent. Well, I think not only a good opponent, but an entertaining match would be, and they could go back with Dom if they wanted to, but to keep this flowing, I would go with what’s the guy’s name? Paul. Oh, Logan Paul,” Mantell stated. (From 7:18)
