John Cena Drops Fresh Retirement Hint
Is John Cena really done with WWE?
At WWE Crown Jewel, John Cena was utterly demolished by Solo Sikoa. Many expected Cena to pick up the win as he was coming off the back of a long losing streak in singles matches, however, it was The Bloodline powerhouse who emerged victorious. Not only that, he hammered Cena with 11 Samoan Spikes in the process.
Meanwhile, on commentary, Michael Cole only added to the sombre feeling around the legend, describing Sikoa as “the man who retired John Cena.”
Prior to the match Cena was open about coming to the end of his career and hinted he might be altogether after the show, posting a photo of David Beckham during his final football match online.
Cena has now dropped another hint, posting a photo on Instagram of Babe Ruth from the last time he visited Yankee Stadium before his death. The photo taken by Nat Fein captured Ruth playing his part in the 25th-anniversary celebrations for the famous stadium, on the same day the Yankees retired his iconic number three jersey. At the time of the appearance, Ruth had been diagnosed with cancer and used a bat as a cane.
Fein went on to win the Pulitzer Prize for the shot that captured Ruth looking out across the stadium, with his number three jersey prominently featured.
When Did John Cena Last Win A Televised Singles Match?
John Cena hasn’t had his hand raised at the end of a singles match since getting the better of Triple H at the Greatest Royal on April 27th, 2018. Since then, the 16-time World Champion has come up short against the likes of Roman Reigns and The Fiend Bray Wyatt.
