Joe Hendry Makes Winning Return To WWE NXT

Joe Hendry NXT

The fans said his name and Joe Hendry appeared in NXT to make things better for one star who was in need of a tag team partner.

On the June 18th episode of NXT, TNA star Joe Hendry made his long-awaited debut with WWE’s third brand. That show began with a huge cross-promotional Battle Royal to determine a new number-one contender for the NXT Championship. With 23 competitors in the ring, Hendry was introduced to a huge ovation, telling fans he was going to take the title back to TNA.

However, Hendry was quickly eliminated by another TNA star and the man who defeated Hendry at Against All Odds, Frankie Kazarian. The fans chanted bullsh*t in response and in a video released by WWE later on, Hendry confronted Shawn Michaels and warned he could turn up on any show at any time.

A tease for Joe Hendry appeared at the very end of NXT Heatwave after Ethan Page had captured the NXT Championship and now the TNA star has made his return.

Joe Hendry Appears In NXT

On the 9th of July edition of NXT, a tag team match was made pitting Ethan Page and Shawn Spears against Trick Williams and Je’Von Evans, but fate intervened. Brooks Jensen was given a second chance by NXT GM Ava and decided to use that chance by attacking Evans backstage leaving him unable to compete.

That left Williams needing a tag team partner and come time for his match, someone must have said his name because Joe Hendry appeared to team with the former NXT Champion.

During the match, Oro Mensah continued his quest for revenge by chasing away Ethan Page leaving Shawn Spears to get hit with a Trick Shot before Hendry downed him with a chokeslam for the win.
