Joe Hendry Forced TNA Changes After Disrupting Plans

Joe Hendry WWE NXT

Joe Hendry is a proud disruptor.

In recent months, Joe Hendry has taken the wrestling world by storm. Since releasing his theme as a hit single back in May, Hendry has been on a roll. Recently, he has been a big part of the ongoing crossover between TNA and WWE, making multiple appearances in NXT, much to the delight of the NXT faithful who have been serenading him to the ring.

When TNA Slammiversary takes place in Montreal on July 20th, Hendry has a chance to take the next step as he competes for the company’s World Championship in a Six-man Elimination Match which also includes Nic Nemeth, Josh Alexander, Frankie Kazarian, Steve Maclin, and the current champion, Moose.

Joe Hendry Disrupted TNA’s Slammiversary Plans

During a recent interview with Bill Pritchard of WrestleZone, Hendry revealed that the six-way bout wasn’t in the original plans for the sold-out show. Management called the star to tell him he had disrupted things, something he is proud of.

“So, I had a very cool conversation with management probably two months ago, where I got a phone call and they said, ‘Congrats. You’ve done so well that you have disrupted the plans.’ And the word disrupted is something that I wear proudly. Because everything I am doing is disruptive.”

“Getting billboards outside Clash At The Castle, just having fun with social media, calling everybody out. I feel like I’m just embracing the fun with the fans, the social media aspect of it. Having the courage and the balls to actually do these things.”

Hendry aims to continue having fun with the fans, but he wants to do it as the face of TNA after July 20th.

“So yeah, I am having so much fun with everything that’s going on. I do feel like professional wrestling is in a place where anything can happen. And that’s when professional wrestling is at its best. I also think the fans are getting what they want.”

“The fans are winning, the companies are winning, the wrestlers are winning… And right now, the fans want to see Joe Hendry carrying TNA. They want to see Joe Hendry as the champion in TNA. They want to see Joe Hendry as the face of TNA. And I’ve got the opportunity to go in and deliver on that.”

WWE Hints At Joe Hendry’s First Feud

On the July 16th edition of NXT, Joe Hendry may have set up his first feud in WWE. The star appeared during the show to provide commentary on a match between Gallus and The Rascalz. With Gallus having already complained about Hendry and other TNA stars invading the NXT roster, it looks like an all-Scottish showdown could happen in the not-too-distant future.
