Jim Ross’ Major All In Entrance Scrapped
Jim Ross was due to receive a grander entrance for AEW All In.
The announcer made his long overdue return to the UK with All Elite Wrestling to announce the action in the opening stages. As seen on the Zero-Hour show, Ross’ music played while JR walked into the shot just before the FTW Championship between Jack Perry and HOOK took place.
As reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Ross was scheduled to have a major entrance at the event, but this was pulled due to the backstage drama that took place shortly before the main show went on the air. Ross did get a pop from his entrance and waved to the crowd, but the presentation was described in a low-key manner.
It should be noted that the timelines do not entirely line up with the report and the real events as Ross was sitting at the announce desk when the altercation between Jack Perry and CM Punk took place. However, there could have been original plans for an entrance at the start of the main broadcast but these were scrapped due to the ongoing events.
Jim Ross Comments On AEW All In Incident
Ross elaborated more on the change of plans on his Grilling JR podcast. Also acknowledging that the show did not go off without drama, JR confirmed that there was a “difference of opinion” in the backstage area.
With All Out being the final pay-per-view JR is scheduled to call on his current contract, the voice of wrestling hopes that he can re-sign with the company and call many more events in the future.
