Jim Ross Cancer Free Following Latest Surgery
Jim Ross is cancer-free.
On May 15, AEW announcer Jim Ross revealed that he’d been diagnosed with colon cancer and would be undergoing treatment in the coming weeks.
The WWE Hall of Famer later underwent surgery and was quickly back at home recovering after what was described as a successful procedure. Ross had previously been diagnosed with skin cancer back in 2021, but again bounced back after treatment.
Despite his ill-fortune, Ross is determined to resume his career with AEW’s biggest night of the year just around the corner.
Things Are Looking Up For Jim Ross
During the latest episode of his Grilling JR podcast, Ross expressed his desire to get back to work as soon as possible. The beloved veteran admitted that he’s already tired of sitting at home.
“Yeah, I’m tired of sitting at home, and I’m excited about the opportunities that await. I am feeling better. My plan is to be in Dallas for the big event [AEW All In].”
Not only does JR want to get back to work, but he revealed that he’s now cancer-free.
“You never know about tomorrow. The cancer’s gone, which I’m very happy to say,” Ross shared. “So you know, I’m blessed that my health has returned, and I’m feeling pretty damn good.”
Ross went on to thank Tony Khan for going out of his way to take care of him and help him during this recent difficult period.
“I’m very indebted to AEW for hiring me, bringing me on board, and Tony Khan has been amazingly wonderful during my illness,” he stated. “He supported me wholeheartedly and I really do appreciate that. That’s the way a boss should act, should do is take care of your people. And Tony Khan has certainly taken good care of me, and I plan on being reciprocal and doing my best to take care of him in my role going forward.”
AEW All In is set to take place on July 12 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
