Jey Uso Believes WWE’s The Bloodline Elevated Wrestling

Jey Uso is looking back at the WWE stable known as The Bloodline and how the group worked closely to present something different.

It was four years ago in August 2020 when Roman Reigns appeared on camera with Paul Heyman by his side. Shortly after that, Jey Uso was involved in the story first as an opponent for Reigns and later as the “Right Hand Man” in the group known as The Bloodline.

When Jey’s brother Jimmy Uso returned from a lengthy injury absence, he joined the group as well. The Usos went on to have the longest Tag Team Title reign in WWE history while Reigns held the Universal Title for an incredible 1,316 days. They were joined as always by the “Wise Man” Paul Heyman during the group’s run.

The group also had Sami Zayn join them for several months until Reigns decided he was no longer needed. Solo Sikoa, who is The Usos young brother, also joined the group after having a successful run in NXT.

During a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, former WWE Tag Team Champion Jey Uso spoke about what it was like to be with The Bloodline.

“I think we elevated wrestling at that time as far as the Covid era, Thunderdome era, because it was just done different. We had to tap in more of the acting, and the emotion part rather than just moves because there was no crowd. So we could literally just play to the camera and really, really become like live actors on screen.”

What Was The Creative Process Like For Jey Uso And The Bloodline In WWE?

As he continued, Jey Uso talked about the creative process involved with The Bloodline.

“Sitting in a room with Hunter, the Wise Man, and Roman every week, we were just [discussing], ‘What did we do last week? What are we going to do this week?’ That’s how we were doing it every single week. We didn’t know what was happening, but it was weird because every time we felt this plateau a little bit, something organically happened on screen and it just made the story go more.”

Roman Reigns returned at WWE SummerSlam last Saturday to confront Solo Sikoa’s new version of The Bloodline, which should lead to a babyface version of the group. While WWE fans will likely want The Usos to reunite with Reigns to fight off the new Bloodline, it’s not known if that is WWE’s plan for the storyline.
