Jey Uso Responds To Fresh WWE Setback

Jey Uso

Jey Uso is determined to bounce back after failing to capture the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

The popular 39 year-old former WWE Intercontinental Champion received a thunderous ovation as he made his trademark entrance ahead of a tilt at Gunther’s World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event on 25th January.

Uso was just a whisker away from capturing his first World Championship on a number of occasions during a pulsating bout at San Antonio’s Frost Bank Center, but ultimately came up short with the powerful Austrian retaining his title via pinfall.

An emotional Uso reflected on the defeat in a video posted on the WWE Instagram channel following the show, with the master of ‘Yeet’ swiftly switching his attention to the Royal Rumble on 1st February:

“I just lost the match for the World Championship. Next move for Jey Uso. Man, I gotta win the Royal Rumble now, uce.”

Despite his desire to win the annual 30-man battle, Uso is unlikely to be amongst the favourites in a stacked field that already includes a string of former winners including Drew McIntyre, Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins, Rey Mysterio, Shinsuke Nakamura, Roman Reigns and John Cena.

The line-up also includes the likes of CM Punk, Sami Zayn and LA Knight with twenty further competitors still to be announced with less than a week to go until the popular Premium Live Event.

Jey Uso Receives Support From Cody Rhodes

Jey Uso was offered support by Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes following his defeat to Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Rhodes emerged from backstage once the television cameras had stopped rolling in an attempt to life Uso’s spirits, assuring his friend that his time would come in future.
