Jerry Lynn Recalls The Former WCW Star Who Was Thrown Into Bushes By The Steiners
Former WWE Superstar and wrestling legend Jerry Lynn offered a candid glimpse into the backstage culture of WCW, describing how Disco Inferno often found himself on the receiving end of locker room pranks and bullying.
Jerry Lynn shared his insights during an appearance on Wrestling Shoot Interviews, shedding light on the challenges of navigating WCW’s intense backstage dynamics. According to Lynn, Disco Inferno’s talkative nature frequently annoyed his peers, particularly the more experienced veterans in the locker room.
In WCW, it was probably Disco Inferno, because then he talked a lot, and he would aggravate some of the veterans, and they would finally go, ‘Alright.’
One of the most memorable incidents Lynn recalled involved a physical prank, believed to have been orchestrated by the infamous Steiner Brothers, known for their roughhousing antics behind the scenes.
I think one time, I don’t know if it was the Steiners, threw him out the door into a bunch of bushes. So probably Disco at the time.
The 1990s WCW locker room was infamous for its hierarchical environment, where seasoned stars often exercised their influence over younger or less established talent. While such behaviour was not uncommon in wrestling at the time, it highlighted the often unchecked power dynamics within the company. Despite the pranks and bullying, Disco Inferno remained a steady figure in WCW. He joined the promotion in 1995 and stayed until its eventual closure in 2001.
What Did Jerry Lynn Say About Wrestlers Who Leak Info To The Dirt Sheets?
Jerry Lynn said that he thinks any wrestler who leaks information to the dirt sheets does damage to the wrestling product and the industry as a whole. Lynn also defended AEW President Tony Khan for trying to keep the information confidential as best as he could, likening information leaks in wrestling to spoilers before seeing a movie.
