Jeff Jarrett Reveals Former TNA Star’s Secret To Success
In a recent episode of “My World with Jeff Jarrett,” the WWE Hall of Famer shared his thoughts on working with Abyss in TNA Wrestling, highlighting the wrestler’s exceptional qualities both in and out of the ring.
Jeff Jarrett emphasised Abyss’s coachability as a key factor in his success.
He is picture perfect at that because it is — in the wrestler sense is that, ‘I’m going to go get as much feedback.’ And at times, he probably drove Dutch [Mantel] and others crazy, talking this and that. But at the end of the day, he wanted to be the very best Abyss he could be.
The wrestling veteran pointed out that Abyss’s meticulous approach to his craft is what makes him an outstanding producer today. Jarrett also pointed out Abyss’s unique ability to consider multiple perspectives in a match or angle, not just his own role.
He cares. But he thinks things all the way through.
Jarrett elaborated that Abyss would even consider camera angles and potential run-ins, calling this comprehensive view something Abyss shined at.
I think there’s a real magic and a real gift to that, because it’s really easy for a talent, a wrestler, to go into a match or a promo or an angle and really dial in and think about yourself. Abyss had the ability to think. That is a gift that he dialled into.
Jarrett also reminisced about bringing Abyss into TNA Wrestling on the inaugural TNA show which featured an opening battle royal. Jarrett credited Dutch Mantel for spotting Abyss’s potential early on.
Dutch saw him for the first night and said, ‘I want this guy’. I’m so glad that he was part of that first show.
This insight from Jeff Jarrett not only sheds light on Abyss’s journey in professional wrestling but also provides a glimpse into the qualities that make a wrestler successful both in the ring and behind the scenes. Abyss is now making a big name today behind the scenes in WWE as one of their main producers.
