Jeff Hardy Reveals Insane Idea He Had For Ladder Match
Jeff Hardy is one of the hardcore wrestling icons.
While he spent his formative years in WWE as a jobber, he and his brother, Matt Hardy, gained prominence after Michael Hayes took them under his wing in 1999.
After parting ways with Hayes, they went on to form Team Xtreme with Lita, and the rest is history.
Their tag team ladder match at WrestleMania 2000 against The Dudley Boyz and Edge & Christian remains a classic to this day.
The Hardy Boyz are a 9-time tag team champions with the Stamford promotion. While Jeff also won the WWE Championship thrice as a single performer, Matt won the ECW title once.
The siblings currently wrestle in TNA, and are its World Tag Team Champions in their fourth run. They will face The Dudleys one last time at Bound for Glory on October 12.
Jeff Hardy Reveals The Details Of A Rejected Pitch For A Ladder Match
Whether wrestling in tag team competitions or as a singles competitor, Jeff Hardy has been part of several ladder matches.
Speaking on a recent episode of the Rewind, Recap, Relive podcast, he recalled details about the rejected pitch.
I’ll go ahead and say the one thing that I never got to do it. I did pitch it like a long time ago and it’ll probably never happen, so I’ll go ahead and say it. But it’s a finish to a ladder match or a TLC match or whatever. But it would be a wooden ladder, and it would be hooked up with a lot of lighter fluid or whatever.
But as you’re going up to get the title, somebody lights it on fire, and it just fires up. That would be the reason you don’t get the title. Or you get it and you fall. So that’s still up here and in here. So it most likely will never happen. But who knows? [H/T: Fightful]
Elsewhere, Jeff Hardy spoke about wrestling for WWE one final time.
