Jeff Hardy Reveals He Is Going To AEW
Jeff Hardy has revealed that he’s set to go to AEW, saying that he’s very excited to join the promotion.
Jeff Hardy was released by WWE on December 9th, and since then there has been a lot of speculation over where he would be headed next and whether he would join his brother Matt in AEW. Matt Hardy has even spoken about the potential of teaming with his brother for one final run with the promotion.
Speaking in an interview with Jared Myers, ‘The Charismatic Enigma’ has revealed that he is indeed AEW-bound.
“I’m going to AEW, it’s so exciting… I’m so nervous and excited.”
Jeff Hardy’s departure from WWE came under controversial circumstances. Initial reports stated that the former WWE Champion’s exit came after he turned down rehab following a “rough night” at a live event. It was also noted that he had missed a number of signing appearances.
Soon after the news of Jeff Hardy’s WWE exit, Matt Hardy assured fans that his brother was fine, as did Jeff’s wife Beth.
It was later reported that Hardy turned down an offer from WWE a few months after he was released, this would have included an induction into the company’s Hall of Fame. Instead, he asked to be given the results of drug tests he took before he left the company.
Speaking on his Twitch channel, Matt Hardy later confirmed that WWE gave Jeff an ultimatum, saying he would have to go to rehab or get released.
However, knowing his drug test would not come back positive, the former World Champion said they should release him as he didn’t need to go to rehab.
It has been announced that the Hardy Boyz will be reuniting on March 12th for Big Time Wrestling. It will be the first time the pair have teamed together in three years.
