Jeff Hardy Pulled From Triplemania
With Jeff Hardy facing serious charges for yet another DUI, it has been confirmed that the AEW star has been pulled from his scheduled appearance at Triplemania.
On the 13th of June, Jeff Hardy was arrested on multiple charges for driving under the influence, with his blood alcohol levels almost four times over the legal limit. Footage has also since emerged of him drinking whisky at a concert earlier in the evening, telling the audience “whisky is my best friend and worst enemy.”
AEW soon announced that Jeff Hardy was going to be seeking treatment for substance abuse issues and his continued employment with the company would depend on him completing that treatment and maintaining his sobriety.
As a result, The Hardys were pulled from the scheduled three-way ladder match for the AEW Tag Team Championship at Road Rager, with Jurassic Express instead battling it out solely with The Young Bucks for the gold.
Matt Hardy has now revealed on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast that Jeff Hardy won’t now have any part of AAA’s Triplemania show where The Hardys were due to face Dragon Lee and Dralístico:
“I’ll be going to Triplemania in Tijuana for Triple-A, pretty excited about that. We’re going to have a mystery partner. We’ll probably announce the mystery partner in all reality but I’ll be teaming with someone else … Jeff, right now, is focused on life which is much bigger than pro wrestling.”
The winners of the match between Los Hermanos Lee and Mat Hardy and his mystery partner will move onto the AAA World Tag Team Title match in October where they and The Young Bucks will challenge FTR for the gold.
