Janel Grant’s Lawyer Reacts To Vince McMahon Netflix Docuseries

Vince McMahon WWE

A lawyer representing Janel Grant has commented on the new Vince McMahon documentary on Netflix.

Fans of pro wrestling are watching and reacting to the six-part “Mr. McMahon” documentary released on Netflix covering the life and career of former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.

There were plenty of interesting comments on the documentary including Vince McMahon’s unique take on the Chris Benoit murder story, how Vince didn’t think The Undertaker suffered a concussion at WrestleMania 30 and Vince’s unique take about people who want to retire from their jobs.

For hardcore wrestling fans, perhaps the documentary isn’t that shocking in some cases, but for non-wrestling fans who may like Netflix documentaries, they will learn a lot about the man who ruled World Wrestling Entertainment for over 40 years.

On the day before the “Mr. McMahon” documentary was released, Vince McMahon criticized it while claiming that it focused too much on his heel pro wrestling character. It was even reported that the billionaire McMahon tried to buy the documentary from Netflix to prevent them from airing it.

It has not been a good year for McMahon because he was essentially kicked out of WWE after a former employee filed a lawsuit against him. Due to the lawsuit, Vince McMahon was forced by his Endeavor bosses to quit his role as TKO Executive Chairman in the wake of sickening allegations in the lawsuit filed by a former WWE employee named Janel Grant. In the lawsuit, Grant accused McMahon of sexual assault and sex trafficking, which also contains horrifying text messages that were made public as part of the lawsuit. It also names former WWE Executive John Laurinaitis and others in the lawsuit.

In response to the lawsuit, Vince McMahon has said he will vigorously fight the lawsuit while he has removed himself from the public eye since he’s no longer part of WWE in any way.

Lawyer For Janel Grant Blasts Vince McMahon In Response To Netflix Documentary

The lawsuit filed by Janel Grant against Vince McMahon is mentioned in the “Mr. McMahon” documentary, but Grant and her legal team did not speak to Netflix about it.

Ann Callis, the lawyer for Ms. Grant, gave the following statement (via Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics) regarding the Netflix documentary.

“The ‘Mr. McMahon’ docuseries makes it clear there is no difference between Vince McMahon’s on-air persona and his true self, they are one and the same. His “character” – known for violent outbursts, sexual deviance, and manipulation – is the real Vince McMahon and exactly what Janel Grant experienced behind closed doors at WWE for years.

“While the docuseries put McMahon’s obsession with power and control on full display, it only scratches the surface of his criminal behavior and it fails to tell the full story of his abuse, sexual assault, and human trafficking of Ms. Grant. She deserves the opportunity to tell her story, on her own time, and in her own way. We look forward to her day in court and to seeing McMahon at last held accountable for his actions.”

It has also been revealed that at least four hours of footage from Vince McMahon interviews were not used in the documentary since he “sounded like a frog” due to McMahon having an issue with his voice that day.
