Jamie Hayter Hints At Huge AEW Rematch

Jamie Hayter is looking to avenge a high-profile defeat.

After spending more than a year out of action with a serious back injury, Jamie Hayter was forced to work her way back up the ranks.

This saw her put together a strong run in the Owen Hart Cup, which led to a match with Mercedes Mone in the finals. Unfortunately for the British star, it was Mone who grabbed the win, and the second of the 11 championships she currently holds.

On the episode of Dynamite following that loss to Mone, Hayter was attacked by the debuting Thekla. Since then, the two women have been at war, with Hayter finally beating her rival one-on-one at WrestleDream.

Jamie Hayter Learned From Mercedes Mone

During a new interview with The Wrestling Classic, Hayter admitted that she’d “never say no” to a rematch with Mone. She also revealed that she didn’t feel confident heading into their first match, admitting that facing the TBS Champion can be an intimidating experience.

“So I feel like not just myself, but there’ll be plenty of women who are like, ‘I want to have a round two.’ Like I want to want to go for it again. I obviously would never say no. I feel like my match with Mercedes, I absolutely learned a lot. That was, that was a very enjoyable experience.

I was so, again, so unconfident going into that match because when you step up with someone like Mercedes, you’re just like, ‘Oh my God,’ it’s a bit intimidating to be honest, because she knows way more than I know. She just really is fantastic.

So, yeah, I would feel a little bit more confident going into the match this time if we were to have a second go around. I feel like maybe I would have a bit more knowledge of what could get the job done, you know?”

Meanwhile, it’s been announced that Mercedes Mone will challenge Kris Statlander for the Women’s World Championship at Full Gear. The match was made after the two came to blows at WrestleDream.
