Jade Cargill’s Absence Addressed By Tony Khan
Having not been on AEW programming since losing the TBS Championship, Tony Khan has discussed Jade Cargill’s absence.
It was back at Double Or Nothing 2023 back in May when Jade Cargill suffered the first loss of her AEW career, falling to Kris Statlander and losing the TBS Championship in the process. Whilst many would have expected Cargill to look for a rematch quickly, she has instead been away from programming ever since.
In a discussion during the All Out media scrum, AEW Head Honcho has noted that he hopes Cargill will return to the company sooner rather than later.
I talked to Jade recently. Hopefully, we’ll get Jade back soon. We’ll have to stay tuned to when and where Jade might pop up again in the world. Definitely a big fan of Jade, she put together one of the most dominant runs ever and was stopped by Kris Statlander.
Statlander To Prove Win “Wasn’t A Fluke”
Following her successful defense of the gold against Ruby Soho at All Out in Chicago, Kris Statlander made it clear that she’s ready to face Jade Cargill again when she’s back, to prove that her victory wasn’t a one-off.
As I’ve said before, I’m willing to prove that my win over her was not a fluke. I know there was the controversy of the second match, ‘did she really put out the challenge.’ Whenever she is ready, I’m accepting any challenge from anyone, especially her, and I will prove that my win is my win and I truly am the TBS Champion.
Whilst most of the talk over the last few days has been about CM Punk’s departure from AEW, Tony Khan did also confirm that another star in the company hadn’t had their contract renewed.
