Jade Cargill Says “The Stories Weren’t Really There” At WWE Evolution

Jade Cargill wants to see WWE Evolution return after an impressive 2025 event.

On July 13, WWE held its second-ever all-female Evolution event in Atlanta, Georgia.

Ahead of the show, much was made of the fact that it was going up against a Beyoncé concert in the same city, and a perceived lack of storyline build on television. However, in the end, none of that seemed to matter as the event became an unequivocal success.

But interestingly, even some people who wrestled on the card were surprised by just how well everything worked out.

During an interview with The Babyfaces Podcast, Jade Cargill, who beat Naomi on the big night, surprisingly admitted that she didn’t think Evolution would be the success it became. She said the turnout by fans came as a shock, especially as the “storylines weren’t really there.”

“I had a great time (at WWE Evolution). The crowd was electric. I think we didn’t even think that many people were gonna come out for that show because… the storylines weren’t really there, but, the fact that the crowd showed up for us was amazing and the fact that we were able to deliver and people want more, I know it’s something that’s gonna happen and be a yearly PLE.”

Jade Cargill Unimpressed By Critics

During the same conversation, Jade Cargill took the opportunity to hit back at her critics, reminding those dissenting voices that she’s only been in the industry for four years. She went on to compare herself to Roman Reigns, who also received a great deal of criticism during the early years of his singles career after the break-up of The Shield.

Following her win over Naomi at Evolution, Jade Cargill missed out on the Women’s Championship at SummerSlam as she lost to Tiffany Stratton. Cargill had become the number one contender after winning the Queen of the Ring tournament.
