Jade Cargill Set For “Full-Blown Push” In WWE
WWE already has creative plans for Jade Cargill.
Jade Cargill’s time in AEW looks to be over following her final match in the company on the 15th of September edition of Rampage where she failed to dethrone Kris Statlander for the TBS Championship. Reports emerged that Cargill’s time in the company was ending and that she looked destined to join WWE.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that WWE has begun creative plans for Cargill and that she’s making considerably more than what most newcomers to the company would earn:
“They’ve already started on creative for her. I heard that yesterday when I was asking around about ‘Is she locked in?’ And she wasn’t locked in but they’d been talking about her a lot. This isn’t some minor thing, this is a big thing to them and she’ll get a full-blown push because of the money it takes to get her, you have to give her a chance to get over.
“They’re not paying what they would pay a normal person to start there. It’s not like it’s Charlotte Flair money or anything like that or Becky Lynch money but for a newcomer to the company, it’s much higher than they usually go. So she got a good deal and they’re talking about her a lot more than somebody they would bring up from NXT so she ain’t gonna be Tegan Nox or somebody that’s brought up, or Candice LeRae that’s just kinda brought up and there.”
Will Jade Cargill join NXT?
When asked if Jade Cargill will start on the NXT roster, Meltzer noted that it’s a possibility but due to the expense of bringing her in, any time in NXT is expected to be short-term:
“I did not clarify that. I got the impression it was the main roster just because of the expense of bringing her in. They could put her in NXT for a little while before bringing her to the main roster. In a sense that would make sense but you have to justify the money.
“[…] She is signed to a main roster deal, she’s not going in there for 60 grand a year. Again I could see them putting her in NXT for a short period of time but my impression is the creative they were talking about was not NXT creative so they have plans for her.”
Jade Cargill is expected to begin at the WWE Performance Center in the coming week with her AEW deal already believed to have expired.
