Jacob Fatu Set For Huge Match Despite Injury Reports

WWE star Jacob Fatu

Confusion continues to surround Jacob Fatu.

Since debuting with the company in June 2024, Jacob Fatu has taken WWE by storm. The star initially appeared as part of Solo Sikoa’s branch of The Bloodline before breaking away from the faction to go it alone.

This saw Fatu win the United States Championship before losing to Sikoa at Night of Champions, and ultimately failing to win it back at SummerSlam.

In more recent weeks, Fatu has found himself at odds with Drew McIntyre, but it seems his immediate plans are on hold. According to a new report, Jacob Fatu is dealing with a “non-wrestling-related” injury that will keep him out of the ring until well into 2026.

There’s no word on what the injury is. But that might not be the end of the story.

Jacob Fatu Set For SmackDown

Despite those reports, Jacob Fatu is still advertised to appear on the October 17 episode of SmackDown. Not only that, he’s still scheduled to face Drew McIntyre.

It’s been suggested that with Fatu’s status in question, the match could be used as a way of writing him off television for the rest of the year.

Elsewhere on SmackDown, Sol Ruca and Zaria challenge Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss for the Women’s Tag Team Championship. Ruca and Zaria earned their shot after beating Alba Fyre and Chelsea Green on October 3 before setting their sights on the champions.

Meanwhile, Nick Aldis has announced that Cody Rhodes will also be appearing on the show. The appearance will be Rhodes’ first since he was beaten by Seth Rollins a Crown Jewel in Australia.
