Is Sammy Guevara Still Suspended?
What’s next for Sammy Guevara?
Back in early March, it was reported that AEW had suspended Sammy Guevara.
At the February 14th taping for AEW Rampage, Jeff Hardy suffered a broken nose during a No Disqualification with Sammy Guevara. However, during the match, there was also a concern that Hardy suffered a concussion, but despite this, concussion protocol wasn’t followed and the Spanish God hit the veteran with his finish.
It’s believed that this is what led to Guevara being suspended.
While discussing Bryan Danielson vs. Will Ospreay in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that Guevara is still suspended.
“This was playing off Sammy Guevara vs. Jeff Hardy where Guevara did the GTS when Hardy was legit hurt which was a miscommunication issue but Guevara is still suspended over it.
Some were mad because they played the injury up so big and Ospreay acted so concerned, even at the press conference where he accepted it was his best match but said he couldn’t celebrate because he didn’t want to hurt Danielson.”
Sammy Guevara Looking To The Future
Shortly after his suspension was confirmed, Sammy Guevara thanked fans for supporting him on his vlog.
Although Guevara didn’t comment on his suspension directly, he reflected on making mistakes and doing his best to learn from them.
There’s no word on when the star will return to action.
In a recent post on social media, Max Caster also claimed he’d been suspended.
