Injury Forces Change To AEW Double Or Nothing Match (SPOILER)

AEW Double Or Nothing 2023

Double Or Nothing promises to be a big night of action in Las Vegas, Nevada but one AEW star will be forced to watch from the sidelines due to injury.

The recent cinematic Firm Deletion match saw Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Isiah Kassidy, and HOOK defeat Big Bill, Ethan Page, Stokely Hathaway, and Lee Moriarty to free Matt Hardy and Kassidy from the clutches of The Firm.

The Hardys and Kassidy appeared on the 13th of May episode of Rampage to discuss what was next for them moving forward with Jeff Hardy targetting the AEW World Tag Team Championship but they were soon interrupted by former champions The Gunns. Austin and Colten Gunn – who were originally part of The Firm when the group debuted – then emerged with Ethan Page to announce a challenge for a six-man tag team match against The Hardys and Kassidy.

In a twist of fate, Matt Hardy revealed that they’d only accept the challenge if they got control of Page’s contract should his team win. A stipulation that The Gunns were only too happy to accept. However, an injury appears to have changed those plans.

On Rampage taped following the 24th of May edition of Dynamite, The Gunns and Ethan Page picked up a quick win in a trios match with Page noting afterwards that he hoped The Hardys were watching.

That brought out Matt and Jeff Hardy who informed their opponents that Isiah Kassidy has suffered an injury and wouldn’t be able to compete at Double Or Nothing. It was then revealed that HOOK would be replacing Kassidy and joining The Hardys on pay-per-view.
